Georges St-Pierre, Tyron Woodley, Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards. All of these men were welterweight champions and all of them were known to put on stinkers of a fight. Will Belal Muhammad be in this group? His past tells us yes but this most recent performance at UFC 304 says no. Belal Muhammad beat Leon Edwards and fought a great fight. While Leon Edwards did fight like a nincompoop, all credit is due to Belal Muhammad. He's the king now. Who is next?
Tom Aspinall put on another blazing performance and defended his interim title against Curtis Blaydes. In the process, Tom Aspinall also avenged his only loss in the UFC at UFC 304. Now we all look to Jon Jones. Will he actually fight Stipe Miocic or will he finally cave in and unify with Tom Aspinall once and for all?
Paddy Pimblett was not supposed to beat King Green at UFC 304. He was supposed to be out gunned. That is until King Green dove in on a takedown and Paddy Pimblett locked in a triangle and armbar. Shooting on Paddy the Baddy is never a good idea and King Green probably fought the worst possible gameplan. Regardless, Paddy Pimblett is now going to be a ranked fighter.
Muhammad Mokaev was once the brightest prospect coming though the regional ranks. An IMMAF champion, he finally made his UFC debut some years ago. Now, Muhammad Mokaev is seen as a boring fighter who is scared to let go. He defeated Manel Kape in his fight but UFC 304 will be the last time Muhammad Mokaev fights for the promotion this time around. From all of his antics to the boring style, Dana White and co. said that they're cutting him loose.
